How
the filters work
Unpleasant
tastes and odors caused by chlorine and organic substances,
such as decayed vegetation and run-off, are adsorbed by
the top quality activated carbon in the ACN filter. Occasional
backwashing is necessary to free the filter bed of impurities
and ready it for operation again.
Suspended
particulate matter, such as clay and silt, which gives water
a cloudy appearance is trapped in the MMN filter bed to
produce clean, clear water. A variety of gravel and sand
facilitates more thorough backwashing and prevents channeling.
The
ACN and MMN filters also contain special media which raises
the pH of acidic water and neutralizes its acidic characteristics
thus eliminating the bluish green stains often found on
plumbing fixtures.
Available
with a calendar clock control
The
twelve day calendar clock control valve schedules regeneration
to occur at preset intervals, based on your estimated water
use.
